The Swallows have been investigating how some materials can have their shapes changed by bending, squashing, twisting and stretching. This has led to discussions on the properties the different materials have and how some materials cannot have their shapes changed.

The Swallows investigated the population density of the United States of America and created bar charts comparing the populations of the ten largest cities by population in the United States.
The swallows investigated wheeled toys and looked for equipment with wheels around the school before experimenting with different ways to fix wheels and axles to a chassis. The swallows then designed, made and evaluated their own toy car.
Maggie from New Mexico visited the Swallows to talk about and answer questions on the United States of America.
