PTFA

Bainbridge, Askrigg and West Burton Schools Federation (BAWB) Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA) is a friendly group of people working towards a common goal – to support the enrichment of the children of our schools and strengthen the school community.

The PTFA is run by a committee consisting of a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer.  The current Committee, appointed in September 2024 are:

  • Katie Seal, Chair
  • Emma Metcalfe, Vice Chair
  • Shell Thornborrow, Treasurer
  • James Wilkins, Secretary
  • Dianne Fawcett

To raise funds we have:

Run raffles. Run a Christmas Fair. Opened a second hand uniform shop. Run events like an online quiz, Halloween Disco, World Book Day Hot Chocolate Night.

…and paid for things like:

Christmas pantomime. Christmas books. Easter eggs. Mud kitchens at Bainbridge. Gardening at Askrigg. A book shed at West Burton. Transport for residential trips for years 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Everyone’s Invited

If you have a child at BAWB, you’re automatically a member of the PTFA. And if you don’t, you can still be a member! How involved you are is up to you. We meet once each half term and would love to see you! Get to know other parents and staff and more about how our school community works together.

It’s great for the kids (even if they don’t realise it)

When our children see us involved at their school and in their learning, it encourages them to do their best. Being active in the PTFA improves our school and makes you an excellent role model.

It won’t take over your life (unless you want it to)

Join a meeting. Buy a raffle ticket. Donate to the uniform shop. Come to an event. Make the cuppas at the Christmas Fair. Design a poster. Whatever your skills or availability, it all helps.
