Maths – Ready to Progress?
Your children may have told you that we are doing maths in a new way at BAWB. On training day, we introduced a style of teaching maths that is designed to help children catch up and to ensure that they are ready for their next stage in their school career, whether they are moving up a year group, key stage or even moving onto secondary school. Focussing on the DfE’s Ready to Progress criteria, we are working hard to ensure our children have the key skills and knowledge they need. We also do weekly quizzes and review lessons designed to help teachers to individualise their lessons and fill in any gaps that have come about as a result of the disruption caused by Covid. Children have been responding to the changes really well and it has been exciting to see their progress.
Richmondshire Climate Action Partnership Logo Competition
A message from them
“Last month the Richmondshire Climate Action Partnership was launched – as a coalition of interested parties, that collectively aim to develop a road map for the district to achieve net-zero carbon.
Symbolically, as we set off on our journey to reduce local greenhouse gas emission, we would like to invite children to design a logo for the Partnership. The winner will be selected by Richmondshire Councillors at their Climate Change Working Group meeting in late May and we then plan to use it, credited to the student and their school, on our website and all communications materials.
We would be delighted if you would be interested in participating in our logo challenge, entries for which would need to be submitted by email by the 18th of May.”
Competition brief and information sheet is attached with the newsletter.
