Rishi Sunak Visit
We were very proud and privileged to welcome Mr Rishi Sunak to Bainbridge School on Friday last week. It was quite exciting and interesting to witness the work of the security team around him, and to learn more about how he divides his time between Richmondshire and Westminster. Mr Sunak was extremely impressed with the calibre of our cyclists, delighted by our outdoor provision, and thrilled with the Forest School provision that our EYFS and Y1 children receive. He made a wooden snail in a Forest School session, supported by Mrs Wheeler to use a bow saw and climbed our new climbing frame whilst talking to the children. He finished with a Q&A session with the children where he was asked a range of questions from “do you have any pets?” to “how do you decide how to spend all the money?”
However, my absolute highlight was watching him ‘fly’ round the school field on a broomstick with Ada at the helm! Mr Sunak really enjoyed his visit to our schools and we were delighted that he could come – a really engaging man whom we felt has a genuine interest in his constituency and its young constituents (whatever your politics). Hopefully our children have a great memory of this special event.

PTFA Summer Raffle
Mrs Raven writes… The PTFA are running a Summer Raffle with prizes of luxury hampers to the lucky winners. Tickets are £1 and can be purchased from the school offices, Alison Champion, Inese Grozne and Beth Daley. The draw will take place at the end of the school day on Wednesday 21 July. Please could any donations for the hampers (wine, chocolates, biscuits etc) be dropped off to any of our schools by 9 July. All proceeds from the raffle will be added to the PTFA fund to support future events to benefit the children across BAWB, such as the Panto, school trips, resources and treats. Your support would be very much appreciated.
Please see the PTFA News section of the Newsletter for dates of future events and meetings. Minutes of the meeting held on 22 June are attached to the Newsletter.
Thank you PTFA
I would like to say a huge thank you to the PTFA who have generously decided to pay for the leavers’ trip to Marrick Priory, including the transport. I am sure that this will be hugely appreciated by all of our Y6 children’s parents. The children will have a wonderful experience at the outdoor centre – a fitting end to their primary phase and a wonderful way to celebrate after a very strange year.
