Assessment Week
The children have been completing their maths, reading, and spelling/grammar tests this week. The results will be with you in due course. As ever, they have demonstrated excellent resilience and a good attitude towards assessments. None of these assessments are statutory this year but help us to build a picture of need within our schools so that we can shape learning accordingly.
Parent Governor Appointment
We didn’t receive any nominations in our parent governor recruitment drive last half-term. Where this is the case, Governing Boards are required to appoint a governor (a parent where possible) so as not to carry a vacancy. Mrs Karen Cromey-Hawke (a current parent) had been working with the governing board as an associate member and has now been appointed to the role of parent governor. We would like to welcome and thank her and are sure that she will be a great asset to the board.
Lorna Hazelwood – Art project
The children had a wonderful time working with Lorna this week, turning their designs into pieces of art work for our school murals (please see the photos in the class sections).
After working at the three schools, Lorna told us “your schools are so special and the children have been wonderful”.
Lorna has taken the children’s artwork away to create a large outdoor mural for each of the schools, we are looking forward to sharing these with you once they have been completed.
