The countdown is coming ….

This week we have been exploring Advent. We have talked about waiting and getting ready.

We have made a lovely advent calendar by creating candles using tissue paper, wax crayons and a watercolour wash; finished off with a light varnish.

We talked about what Christmas means to us which helped us choose what pictures to put behind each candle – lovely Christmassy pictures, drawn by the children, waiting to be revealed.

We also read the Christmas story and matched the different parts to the songs in our nativity. Yes, it’s that time of year – lots of lovely singing and exhausted angels.
