The Roadmap out of Covid Restrictions
We were delighted to hear the government announcement that the lifting of all restrictions is on schedule for 19th July. However, the requirement for whole bubbles having to isolate in the event of a positive case remains in place until mid-august. For this reason, we have made the decision to keep all of our existing plans as they currently stand – right until the end of term. This will help to minimise the risk of isolation just before the summer holiday and avoid confused messages and last-minute changes. Click here to remind yourselves of what we are doing and what you can do to continue to help.
We look forward to the transition events we have planned for small groups of children on the 20th and the leavers’ services on 22nd and 23rd, details of which have been shared separately.
Covid Isolations and Staffing
A few thank yous in the current climate:
- To parents and staff for respecting testing requirements and reporting any positive cases amongst close personal contacts, enabling the right people to isolate quickly.
- To parents and pupils for being so patient with us as we make necessary changes to the timetable due to staff absence. I am sorry that some of you have missed out on some things e.g. Forest schools. We are trying really hard to redress the balance.
- To staff, for sacrificing their statutory PPA time to help us cover, and for their general willingness to go the extra mile as team-players.
We are nearly there everyone! THANK YOU!
Understanding your Child with Additional Needs
NYCC is putting on some free online courses for parents and we have identified one in particular which some of our parents might find useful: number 3b - understanding your child with additional needs (see accompanying flyer). It is for parents, relatives and friends of children who may have a physical or learning disability or who may have autistic traits.
The course is free to those in NYCC schools by entering access code: NYfamilies. Parents will not be identified but they will be asked for their postcode. The courses are also available in other languages. There is a drop down menu on the first page to select the language required.
If you have any queries about this, please contact the school office and we will put you in touch with our SENCo (Mrs Alexa Barber) who has more information.
School Uniform
School Trends writes to us … ‘As the summer holiday approaches we wanted to get in touch one last time to say a huge THANK YOU for your ongoing custom. We would also like to ask you to pass on some important order deadline information to your parents.
High demand in the summer months increases our order turnaround time so with this in mind, please could you ask your parents to place their uniform orders on or before July 19th.’
