Cycling in the Bolton Estate
Robins and Owls had a wonderful adventure on Bolton Estate on Tuesday. It was quite a sight to see 51 bikes and helmets of all sizes waiting on the grass for our enthusiastic cyclists!
As ever, the children’s behaviour was impeccable, listening carefully and helping others, we were so very proud of them. They all challenged themselves at varying levels, biking a minimum of 3 miles, with the more experienced cyclists cycling an impressive 7 miles to Redmire and back! To think some of these children are only three, is incredible, we hear they all slept very well that night!
Thank you so very much to all of the parent volunteers for their help, and to StageOne cycles for support and expertise. Special thanks to Mr Gurden who set up and dismantled the toilet tent! Also to Steve (Cecelia’s Dad), for his amazing support with the younger children, we added backpacks, balance bikes and children to his bike trailer at various times throughout the day we are extremely grateful, thank you.
A special thank you to Mrs Gurden for her meticulous planning and organisation, ensuring we had everything we needed to make the day run smoothly, the weeks of planning were greatly appreciated, it was a fantastic day.
Library Books
Mrs Iveson writes … ‘Please can all library books be returned to school before the summer holiday. Please check bedrooms and bookshelves for any missing ones. Books can be returned any day next week.
Don’t forget to visit the local libraries and join the summer reading challenge.’
Parent Governor Election
Mrs Laura Alderson’s parent governor term of office comes to an end at the end of this term. She is very happy to stand for re-election, though we will run a full election process in case there are any other parents who wish to stand. Closing date for nominations will be Friday 17th September and more information will come separately.
