This week we have painted our carnival pictures with great excitement, spot our pupil of the week creating his masterpiece! We were really impressed by the children’s attention to detail and ensuring their picture was full of colour without any gaps.
In maths this week we have started our new unit on place value to 50, first job was to organise the resources into groups of ten. They did a fantastic job and are now using them to make two-digit numbers to 100.
We have been exploring programmable toys in computing and learning how to follow and give a sequence of instructions (algorithms) in order to reach a destination. The week started with a beautiful winter walk with the Owls and Robins, we talked about evergreen and deciduous trees, spotted some beautiful snowdrops and had great fun rolling down the field in the sunshine!
Our story time book this week has been ‘Five Minute’s Peace’ Here is Mrs Large enjoying reading the paper in her bubble bath!
The difference between the vocabulary weather and climate was the focus of our geography lesson, lots of discussion and research, we think we know……next time you see an Owl, ask them!
In art the children have used a template to create carnival masks and added sequins and gems to make them extra special. We are looking forward to painting carnival pictures using lots of bright colours.
