In the Merlins class we are really developing our love of reading. We enjoy reading a range of our banded books as well as books from our library. We are also enjoy our new comfy reading area within the classroom.
The Eco Warriors worked hard on Thursday afternoon. They made a draftometer and draft excluder snakes!
This week some lucky ks2 children had the opportunity to take part in the annual cross-country event held at Richmond Secondary School. The event saw 30 schools and over 1000 pupils take part in the course. All the children gave their all and brought a huge sense of pride to Read more…
In computing this week we looked at range of communication types. We then delved deeper into a range of scenarios and looked at which forms/platforms of communication would work best.
The Great North Air Ambulance will be collecting from all three schools on Monday 10th of October. They collect; clothing, curtains, towels, handbags, belts, shoes in pairs, and bedding, apart from quilts and pillows. They do not collect bric a brac but will happily take books in a separate bag. Monday saw us celebrate the diverse range of languages spoke through Europe. As well as dressing in our chosen flag colours our children took part in several enjoyable activities from a scavenger hunt, escape room and creating their own language phrase bank.
A snapshot from RE this week. The children were investigating the transfiguration by looking at different accounts from the bible. They were then tasked with using talk for writing to help them retell the events of the transfiguration.
