The Swallows investigated the population density of the United States of America and created bar charts comparing the populations of the ten largest cities by population in the United States.
We had a great day designing and making greetings cards using levers and linkages.
Which soil is more permeable? We were very impressed by the careful planning and selection of resources. Remembering to measure the soil and the water carefully to ensure the test was fair. We made predictions But were our predictions correct? What did our findings tell us?
The Golden Eagles have been working hard rehearsing their dramatic reading of ‘Feeding the 5000’ for our Harvest Festival Celebration.
The Golden Eagles have been working on their ‘500 words’ to enter in the Upper Wensleydale Writing Competition. The winner will be announced on 09.12.22 and will receive a £50 book token and a trophy to keep; as well as winning a £100 book token for their school!
Callum and James both brought ‘projects’ they have been working on at home in to school and shared their work with the class.
In PE this week we were looking at keeping control of the ball when dribbling. Children in the Merlins class enjoyed our warm up game ‘king of the hill’ using tennis balls to really focus on small, controlled touches.
In music with Mr Price this week the Merlins played a range of songs including hot cross buns. The children are developing their ability to play in unison and even began playing songs in a round for the first time.
